I'm so proud of my boi! And his boi, of course!
Imagine this:
You're a mom. You're the mother of an incredibly talented yet so sweet and humble man. You're watching Project Runway because you know the favored designer, Christian Siriano, is using a song written, performed, and produced by your boy in the runway show for his final collection.
As the music starts and Christian's first model comes out you can see a change in the energy of the audience and the judges. The models are stomping down the runway, while your son is singing "Control Me".
Can you imagine how that feels for a mom? I understand what "flushed with pride" means. This is not the first time that Brad has brought that feeling out of me. I get hot, I get sweaty, my face is burning, and the lump in my throat makes me feel like I will cry. But I don't cry (thanks alot Effexor). Instead I call my boy, it takes me three tries to get through to his voicemail because everyone who knows him is calling him at the same moment, and I record my goofy self shouting "Woohoo! That was Fierce, Bitch!" Which is, I'm sure, exactly what everyone else is recording on his voicemail.
And then, of course, Christian wins. For this mom, that was a secondary thing. As far as his mother though, I am sure I know exactly how she felt at that show.
